Mahanoy Area School District won appeals before the Schuylkill Assessment Appeals Board after hearings at the courthouse.

The district won appeals concerning 35 properties located within the boundary of the school district and add to the district assessments on properties by $356,330 on which taxes are based. The board ruled on the following:Thomas F. Dolbin, 1238 E. Center St., Mahanoy City, market value on his property was increased from $15,770 to $27,432 and the assessment from $7,885 to $13,715, an increase in assessment of $5,830.Peter J. Olivo, 118 E. Market St., Mahanoy City, on a 50-by-125 foot lot in unit block on East Mahanoy Avenue, market value increased from $11,850 to $24,598 and assessment from $5,925 to $12,300, an increase in assessment of $6,375.Nina Salvadore and Joseph J. Delluso, 606 E. Mahanoy St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $18,140 to $31,128 and assessment from $9,070 to $15,610, an increase in assessment of $6,540.Kenneth M. Gallagher, 59 High Road, Mahanoy City, market value increased from $31,850 to $45,128 and assessment from $15,925 to $22,565, an increase of $6,640 in assessment.Brian Schad, 718 E. Pine St., Mahanoy City, market value increased from $19,460 to $33,114 and assessment from $9,730 to $16,555, an increase of $ 6,825 in assessment.Michael and Megan Tonko, 25 S.
