The Monday, April 18 meeting of the Palmerton Lions Club will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel in Bowmanstown.

Past International Director Robert Miller will visit the club to share information about eye research and site conservation.In addition, as the initial phase of the club excellence process, surveys will be distributed to each member during this meeting.Members are also busy planning for their annual Health Fair being held at the Blue Mountain Community Services Center at 217 Franklin Avenue Palmerton on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The Health Fair will include several health assessments, health screenings, chair massages, opportunity to meet with representatives from the Blue Mountain Health System and agencies from Carbon and surrounding counties to receive information and education on a variety of health-related topics and services.There will also be a healthy cooking demonstration, a chance to win one of several door prizes (awarded every half hour), and an optional group walk at 11 a.m., weather permitting.Advance registration is preferred by calling 610-377-7070.The health fair is being co-sponsored by the Blue Mountain Health System.Any individual or business interested in learning more about Lionism, or attending a club meeting may contact membership chairperson Nick Hawkey at 610-826-6465 or you may email him at
