Pocoo Mountain Regional Police report the arrest of George Murphy, 40, of Brooklyn, N.Y., on various charges, including being a fugitive from New York.

Police said they stopped the man while he was driving a vehicle on Rt. 940, having observed it traveling below the speed limit and in the wrong lane of traffic. Police said he was found to be in possession of multiple forms of identification and police were not able to verify his identity or driver's license information until his girlfriend provided his true name to officers.Murphy was also found to be in possession of marijuana and cocaine.Police arrested him for the drug violations and learned he has been a fugitive from justice in New York since 2009. He is being held in the Monroe County Correctional Facility, awaiting extradition and also pending a hearing on the narcotics charges.The apprehension took place at 2:25 a.m. April 12 in Pocono Summit.
