Nesquehoning accident victim identified as Lehighton man

Nesquehoning police have released the name of a man critically injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in the borough on Sunday. Photos of the accident were published on page 3 of Monday's TIMES NEWS.

According to Officer Timothy Wuttke, the driver of the 1999 Infinity QRX was Jarred Klager of Lehighton.He noted that Klager took the vehicle, which was not his, from a friend's house. He then was traveling north along SR209 between Lansford and Nesquehoning at 8 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.The vehicle traveled across the highway and entered the north berm. It then hit a set of guardrails and went airborne. The SUV came to rest after impacting several trees.According to reports, Klager was trapped inside the vehicle for over an hour. He was freed by members of the Nesquehoning, Hauto, and New Columbus fire companies, and treated at the scene by the Nesquehoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.Wuttke said police are continuing to investigate the incident. Summit Hill police assisted at the scene.
