Tamaqua man facing drug count

A Tamaqua man was cited for marijuana possession after he was observed rolling his own joint in public.

At 1:29 p.m. Aug. 7 police were patrolling in the area of the Tamaqua Train Station when one of the officers saw a man rolling a joint.He notified his partner, and the officers went to the north side of the station. There they found Justin Ramel Baldwin Vereen, 21, sitting on a railroad cart. In his hand was a brown, rolled cigarette.The officer asked Vereen for the rest of the marijuana, which he denied having.However, a pat-down search turned up a bag of vegetable matter tucked in the waistband of his pants. The vegetable matter field tested positive for marijuana.Vereen was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
