Police from throughout Carbon County closed down state SR209 between Jim Thorpe and Lehighton Wednesday night when a person wanted on a warrant fled a roadblock that was set up by police which then triggered a manhunt. The incident occurred on the Mansion House Hill in Mahoning Township. The man, identified as Trevor Hunsicker, 22, of Lehighton, ran from the scene jumping over a stone wall which is the top of a 130 foot cliff. Police from throughout the county joined the search as well as a state police helicopter utilizing a thermal imaging camera in an attempt to locate Hunsicker who reportedly has several warrants on him. Police searched along the Lehigh River and adjoining railroad tracks from Jim Thorpe to Lehighton. Traffic was backed up for hours as police closed the busy highway joining the two communities. Police were told Hunsicker was barefoot at the time of the incident.
