Walnutport to seek bids on playgrounds project

At Walnutport Council's workshop meeting that was held Thursday night council voted to have Kip Fedetz, of Fedetz and Martin Associates, PC, start the bidding process for the second phase of the Walnutport Playground Improvements project. This includes the band shell, the pavillion and the grading around those two areas. Fetitz said that he would like to see the project go out to bid in May and construction start in July (after the Walnutport Playground's carnival is over).

In other business, Council voted to have Borough Secretary Annette Lacko create a Facebook page for the borough. Council tabled their lease agreement with the Walnutport Playground Association until next week's meeting and Councilman Lamar Lauer said that someone is going around Walnutport stealing people's recycling from the curbs. Council asked Lacko to send a letter to the police, asking them to keep an eye out for this.
