At least one person was seriously injured in this crash Wednesday afternoon in Mt. Pocahontas Estates, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. The mini van was being operated south on Old Stage Road just before the intersection with Meckesville Road when the driver lost control. The unit swerved to the right leaving the berm and striking numerous trees before coming to rest back on the roadway on its side. Reports from the site were at least one victim was flown from the scene by a medical transport helicopter to an area trauma center. Penn Forest Township fire police shut down Old Stage Road maintaining traffic control at the scene. State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the mishap.
