LALLC board meeting

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club will hold a board meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 in the community room at the Blue Mountain Health System Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital campus.

Board members who are unable to attend are asked to notify President Kimberly Babcock before the meeting.

Grief support group

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church will begin a new 13-week cycle of its grief support group, "GriefShare," from 6 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 3 at the church, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton.

If you are grieving the loss of someone, or you know someone who is, plan to attend or encourage others to come. It makes a difference whether your grief is fresh or you've suffered for years.

Redneck Festival meeting

The Redneck Festival Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 at the Weissport Borough Hall. New committee members, vendors or volunteers are welcome. Call 610-377-5559 for additional information.

Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold Sunday worship at 9 a.m. Included in the service will be participants from the church-sponsored Jack and Jill Preschool singing songs, presenting food items collected for the Lehighton Pantry, and displaying their artwork. The Rev. Guy Grube will preach a special children's message. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

There will be displays during the fellowship time that show Trinity's outreach in the community. February begins registration time for the 2014-2015 preschool term and on March 3 there will be an open house for the community.

Members of the youth group will be selling varieties of homemade soups to help pay costs for their upcoming mission trip during the summer.

Sunday School classes for ages 3 through grade 12 meet at 10:30 a.m.

Photography hours Feb. 11-15 have been announced for a new updated church directory. Trinity members will receive a free photo and a directory. Call the church office at 610-377-4303 for more information about making an appointment. The publication of the directory will be completed after a new pastor has been hired.

In the event of inclement weather that would necessitate the cancellation of worship services, a recording will be placed on the outgoing message of the office number within two hours of the worship time. A cancellation would also be registered with WFMZ-TV and on that website.

Bethany news

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, North Street, Lehighton, will hold Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. Kid's Club for children kindergarten through fourth grade is held every Monday at 6 p.m.

Prayer meeting is held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and choir practice begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
