A rear-end type crash occurred about 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, along SR209 at Palm Drive, in Towamensing Township. Troopers said Thomas G. Whitehead Jr., 28, of Lehighton, was stopped for traffic in his 2005 Saab when Darrel R. Startzel Jr., 20, of Barnesville, approached from behind in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala and did not see traffic stopped. The front of the Impala hit the rear of the Saab.

No one was injured in the accident, troopers said.

A three-vehicle, rear-end type mishap was reported about 4:48 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, along SR209 at the intersection with Forest Inn Road in Towamensing Township. Troopers said Phillip Betz, of Kempton, and Christine Harmandy, of Palmerton, were stopped while southbound waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Forest Inn Road. Alexia Blackhurst, of Wilmington, Del., was also southbound and failed to stop for the traffic ahead.

The front of Blackhurst's 2007 Toyota Highlander hit the rear of Betz's 1998 Saturn pushing it into the rear of Harmandy's 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
