Pocono Mountain Regional Police apprehended Ehabb Elsayed, 26, of Effort, on July 19 at 9:55 p.m., arresting him with several charges, and also learning he is wanted on an outstanding warrant issued in Carbon County.

Police said they stopped a vehicle Elsayed was driving in Pocono Farms East because the vehicle had an illegal license plate on it. Police said the man proceeded to provide a false name to them and the further investigation revealed the vehicle he was driving was stolen in Monroe County. Police also found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

An incident that was reported at 1:35 p.m. July 19 in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County, resulted in simple assault charges against a Schuylkill Haven couple.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Scott M. Bowers, 31, and Nadine M. mason, 29, were engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical at 319 S. Front St. in the township. Police said Bowers pushed Mason, causing her to fall to the ground. Mason then struck Bowers multiple times with a cooking pot, causing open lacerations on the forehead.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks were summoned to a "drug overdose" incident on July 16.

Police said the victim is David Sofia, 222 Keats Lane, Albrightsville.

Police said they were told the man took sleeping pills and was discovered by his wife. He was transported to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, in the Penn Forest Ambulance.

A theft by unlawful taking matter has been reported to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said the victim is George F. Cirabisi, 61, of 7 N. Lake Dr., Jim Thorpe (Penn Forest Township).

Police said Cirabisi told them he hired a New York-based moving company to move his belongings between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 4, after which time the man learned $6,500 worth of men's jewelry was missing. The investigation is continuing.

The theft of a street sign owned by the Polk Township Municipal Authority is being investigated by Lehighton State Police.

Police said someone removed the "Hell Hollow Road" sign at the intersection of that road and Memorial Drive in Polk Township sometime between July 13-16.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating an aggravated assault incident whereby someone fired three shots into a residence in Chestnuthill Township.

The incident happened at 10:15 p.m. July 17. The victim is a resident of 1024 State Road in the township.

Police said the shots were fired from a passing vehicle, after which time the owner discovered three bullet holes in the siding of the home. None of the home's occupants were injured.

Disorderly conduct charges are pending against two persons who engaged in a physical altercation at 6 p.m. July 18 at 212 White St. in Weissport.

State police at the Lehighton barracks were summoned to the fracas and found Randy Ozzy-Gordan Smith of 212 White St. and Derek William Walck of 42 Canal St., Lehighton, involved in the fight. Both men are 19 years of age.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a quick change scam in which a man decepted an employee at the Kohl's store and made off with extra change the employee gave him.

The incident happened at 8:30 p.m. July 16 at the store, which is located in the Fairlane Village Mall in Norwegian Township, near Pottsville.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating two burglaries that happened in recent weeks.

The one took place between 7 a.m. July 2 and 3 p.m. July 12 in Lower Macungie Township.

The victim is Megan Mary McLaughlin, 43, of Macungie.

Police said someone entered her residence in the 3700 block of Knight Drive and removed two LED television sets, a Wii game console with associated components and four games and approximately $5,000 worth of jewelry.

Regina Young, 51, no address given, is facing several charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, following an incident at 5:30 p.m. July 19 along Route 209 in Polk Township.
