Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved a contract with Mullin and Lonergan for consulting services for the Community Development Block Grant program for 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The contract will cover certain services and technical advice for the county as well as the communities (Butler Township, Mahanoy City, Minersville, Pine Grove, Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill Haven, Shenandoah, Tamaqua, Wayne Township and West Penn Township) for which the county administers the small communities program.In other matters, commissioners agreed to pay PCORP insurance programs for property, auto and liability insurance from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2018, for a total cost of $423,015.In other matters, the salary board moved to eliminate the position of domestic relations staff solicitor/attorney. The $36,463 a year job is currently held by Gino DiNicola of Branch Township.
