Margaret (Puglio) Fay, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, is celebrating her 96th birthday.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1919, in Hazleton. She graduated from Hazleton High School and received a diploma as an RN from the Hazleton General Hospital School of Nursing.After graduating from nurses training, she and two other friends enlisted in the Army, serving a tour in Europe during World War II. During her time in the Army she traveled extensively throughout Europe.When she returned home, she married John "Red" Fay and they settled in their apartment on Alter Street. Margaret did private duty nursing until her retirement.Margaret enjoyed walking downtown to shop or pay a bill, then have lunch at Jimmy's or Georgio's.
