Hair Mechanics adds new services

Hair Mechanics of Coaldale has a new "mechanic." Sasha Reis, daughter of Hair Mechanics owner Marie Griffiths, brings her skills of manicures, pedicures and professional makeup to the hairstyling salon. Sasha, 26, is a hairstylist as well.

After graduating from Northampton Community College majoring in radiology technology, Reis decided to attend Empire Beauty School. Cosmetology has always been her first love. It's a career path she is very passionate about and takes great pride in. Reis wants to add a newer vibe and modern style to the shop."I followed in my mom's footsteps because it's something that comes natural to us" Reis said. "It isn't something forced, and you can tell through the work we do."Hair Mechanics, 180 First St. in Coaldale, opened its doors in June 2008. Griffiths, a graduate of JoMar Beauty School, is excited to give her current clients and new ones extra services. To be working side by side with her daughter is an amazing added bonus. The mother and daughter team wants residents to know they are very "confident in what they do." Being a family-owned business, they want to give each client a personal, one-on-one relationship. They are both proud to live in the same town where they work."No other salon in the area offers all of these services" Reis said. "We hope it makes it a lot easier for people with busy schedules."Along with their typical salon services, Hair Mechanics now offers manicures, gel polish manicures, pedicures, keratin smoothing treatments and hair extensions. A Facebook page has been created to showcase their talents.Hours are by appointment only. Men, women and children are welcome. For more information, or to book an appointment, call 570-645-2938.
