The Panther Valley Women's Club recently reorganized and is gearing up for another fun-filled stint of good works and good times. The group, which has been in existence for more than 20 years and boasts 33 members from Coaldale, Lansford, Summit Hill and Lake Hauto, meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month at the Viennese Villa in Coaldale. The club has donated to the Panther Valley Public Library, the local food pantry, local Scout troops, the American Cancer Society, and gives scholarships to students in the Panther Valley School District, Marian High School and the Carbon Career and Technical Institute. To join, contact any officer, or call president Sue Solt at (570) 645-3848. Officers are, from left, Gerry King, corresponding secretary; Cathy Fritzinger, vice-president; Solt; Cathy Papesh, recording secretary; and Sandy Smell, treasurer. The women are standing at the Veterans Memorial Garden in Coaldale.
