Helen Rizzo of Penn Forest Township celebrated her 96th birthday on Sunday. She was born on March 21, 1914 in Norristown, Pa.

She was married to Daniel Rizzo who died in 1984. They had two children, a son, Carmen, and his wife, Susan, Worcester; and a daughter, Marian, and her husband Bob Shuler, of Penn Forest Township, with whom she resides.Helen has a grandson Tom Rizzo, Worcester; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Barr, Colorado Springs, Colo; and Dr. Jennifer Myers, and her husband Dr. Ian Myers, Wilmington, Del. She has five great-grandchildren: Matt, Ken, Ben, Edward and Eliot.Helen still cooks and loves to bake and sew. She attends meetings at the Panther Valley Golden Agers and sings with the chorus.She enjoys reading and is a member of the Bear Creek Lakes Book Club. She worked as a seamstress.Longevity must be in the genes as Helen's brother is 94 and her mother lived to be 99 .
