Tamaqua District Court

Cases held in District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer’s court in Tamaqua on May 7 included:

Michael Plaza, 31, of Hazleton, waived his hearing on charges of driving under the influence, operating a vehicle while license is suspended or revoked and operating with unsafe equipment. Charges stem from an incident on Nov. 14, 2017, and were filed by McAdoo patrolman William Curilla. He was released on his own recognizance.

Christine Lynn Oxner, 47, of Andreas, waived her hearing on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. The charges stem from Feb. 4, and were filed by McAdoo patrolman Curilla. She was released on her own recognizance.

Michael L. Reed, 40, of Tamaqua, waived his hearing on a bad-check charge. Charges were filed by Tamaqua police. He was released on his own recognizance.

Amanda Furedi, 30, of Drifton, Luzerne County, waived her hearing on charges of DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia, stemming from an incident that occurred on Feb. 28. Charges were filed by McAdoo patrolman Curilla. She was released on her own recognizance.

Michael J. Kabana, 29, of Reading, waived his hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, stemming from an incident that occurred on Feb. 7. Charges were filed by patrolman Cameron T. Ivanina. He was released on his own recognizance.

Jerline Stephanie Rodriguez, 22, of Hazleton, waived her hearing on charges of DUI controlled substance, obedience to traffic-control devices and vehicle registration suspended, stemming from an incident that occurred on Feb. 9. Charges were filed by McAdoo patrolman Curilla. She was released on her own recognizance.

Jonathan Michael Burget, 41, of McAdoo, failed to appear in court on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, which occurred on March 17. Charges were filed by McAdoo patrolman Anthony DiVirgilio. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Shanny Arzu, 30, of the Bronx, New York, failed to appear in court on charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief, from an incident that occurred on Jan. 23. Charges were filed by McAdoo patrolman DiVirgilio. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Amy Jean Fayock, 39, of Hazleton, waived her hearing on charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, stemming from March 19. Charges were filed by officer Bradley J. Hess. She was unable to post $5,000 percentage bail and was returned to Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
