Lenten service

Five area churches join together each year for Wednesday evening Lenten services. Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, St. Matthew’s UCC, and Salem United Church of Christ will hold a joint service on March 20 at Jerusalem UCC, Trachsville. The preacher will be Brian Holben. The theme will be “Prayer and Fasting.”

A simple soup supper will be held from 6-6:45 p.m. Worship service will begin at 7 p.m. Choir rehearsal will be at 6:30 p.m. Choir members from all churches are invited to attend the rehearsal and sing each week.

Breakfast

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, OJ, coffee, tea and milk.

Wing, taco and clam specials are every Wednesday night from 5-8 p.m. Dinner is served every Friday from 4-8 p.m.
