This day will include children's special involvement in the worship service, and will also celebrate the quilts the ladies of the Lutheran World Relief Quilters have been working on all year.A Mother's Day breakfast will be held in the church hall from 9-10:30 a.m. Call 610-826-2524 to make your reservation. There will be a freewill offering. The breakfast, served by the Sunday school, will include pancakes, fruit, coffee, tea and juices. Donations of baked good will be appreciated.Palmerton VFWThe Palmerton Memorial Post 7134 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. The meeting will be held at the VFW Post, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The group welcomes veterans to join them. They meet the second Monday of each month.Pace-MakersThe Pace-Makers Association holds Cruise Nights at the Palmerton Borough Park the first Friday of every month beginning 6-8:30 p.m. Friday. The group meets the second Thursday of each month.Historical societyThe Palmerton Area Historical Society is preparing a display at its Heritage Center, 410 Delaware Ave., in conjunction with the Moving Wall, which will be in Palmerton Borough Park from July 21-25. The society's display is not limited to Vietnam items - any U.S. military insignia, awards, etc., will be included. Please bring items to the Heritage Center as soon as possible. The center is "officially" open from Wednesday through Saturday each week; phone 610-824-6954 for a recording listing the hours each day.
