The Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority has completed the purchase of the Bear Creek Water System from the Panther Valley Water Company. The purchase price is $700,000.

The authority will supply water to Hauto, Lansford, Coaldale and the Andrewsville section of Summit Hill.Taking part in the negotiations were authority board members William J. Clements, Frank W. Heister and Charles A. Probert.
