Tamaqua man pleads guilty to indecent assault

A Tamaqua man was among 13 people who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges recently in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin. They were:

Jared Paul Zeigler, 206 Hazle Street, Tamaqua, two counts of indecent assault. He will be sentenced at a later date as the court ordered a pre-sentence investigative report prepared by the adult probation department. Zeigler was cited by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police.John Leroy Smith, 20, of 75 Valley Street, New Philadelphia, possession of a controlled substance (CS), serve 12 months probation, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund and $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). Smith was cited by Patrolman Joseph Welsh, Pottsville police.Brian R. Kehl, 27, of 114 Patterson St., Tamaqua, formerly of 117 Catawissa St., Tuscarora, Schuylkill Township, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, served 72 hours in the county prison and was released on parole for six months, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe fund, restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant. On charges of possession of a CS and drug paraphernalia received concurrent 12 months probation sentences and on a summary charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 and improper use of multi-beam lights fined $25 plus $100 in costs. Kehl was cited by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale police.Eric Petterson, 64, of 411 W. Pine St., Mahanoy City, disorderly conduct, fined $300 plus costs of prosecution.Corey James Weikel, 19, Girardville, DUI, placed in Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) to serve 24 months on probation including three months with electronic monitoring and perform 40 hours of community service. On forging a prescription to obtain additional drugs received a concurrent sentence. On a charge of resisting arrest in Nuremberg borough last June was given a concurrent 24 months probation sentence but must perform an additional 40 hours of community service. On a charge of receiving a stolen digital camera received a concurrent 12 months probation but an additional 40 hours of community service.Daniel Michael Saranchak III, 22, Port Carbon, burglary, serve 15 to 30 months in a state correctional institution and make restitution of $132.82 to Department of Public Welfare and $45 to Angus Angst and Tyler Hosler, both of Pottsville.Matthew Diemidio, 37, Elysburg, possession of drug paraphernalia when stopped on Fairgrounds Road, Butler Township, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund and $50 to CJEA.Steven Poe, 25, Shamokin, possession of drug paraphernalia when stopped on Fairgrounds Road in Butler Township, 12 months probation, fined $500 and $100 to SAE fund.Michael Robert Bramley, 34, Minersville, possession of a CS, serve four to 12 months in county prison, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Dustin Renay Ballard, 21, Pottsville, credit card fraud, serve three to 23 months in county prison, receive credit for serving 36 days and make restitution of $500 to district attorney's office. On a charge of forging a bill of sale for a motorcycle make restitution of $145 to Ann Marie Kocher, Pottsville, and serve one to 12 months in county prison with the sentence to run concurrent with the credit card sentence. On the charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was fined $200, driving an unregistered vehicle, fined $75 and stop sign violation fined $25 plus $150 in costs.Michelle Ann Willie, 44, Minersville, harassment by telephone of 28 calls, placed on probation, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $105.23 to Henry Bertasavage, Branch Township. On three charges of receiving stolen property from Way Mart Store, Minersville, sentenced to serve one to 12 months in county prison, pay $150 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $386.06 to the store.Sharon Lynn Haley, 57, Mountville, five counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds from Pinebrook Personal Care Home, Orwigsburg, where she acted as administrator, placed on probation four years, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $51,874 to the home and $9,165 to four patients.Rachel Ann Fidler, 27, Frackville, retail theft from Boscov's Store, Fairlane Village Mall, Pottsville, was given credit for serving two days in the county prison and released on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $2,300 to the store.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
