Carbon County court - DUI
Twelve defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas on Thursday in Carbon County court to driving under the influence charges.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the pleas from the following:David Joseph Longenbach, 34, of York, was arrested on April 22, 2015, by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 at Parryville. A test revealed a 0.24 BAC.Nanovic sentenced him to serve two to six months in jail, a fine of $500 and one-year license suspension.Longenbach spent 78 days in an inpatient rehabilitation program and was given credit for it against his sentence and was paroled.Todd Allen Moyer, 49, of Walnutport, was arrested on May 12, 2016, along Fourth Street by Palmerton police. A test revealed a 0.07 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so Moyer can obtain a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.Robert Joseph Dorward, 48, of Lehighton, was arrested on Dec. 22, 2016, by state police at Lehighton along Strohl Valley Road in Towamensing Township. A test revealed a 0.20 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so Dorward can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and apply for the county's Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.Monica Lynn Walck, 29, of Summit Hill, was arrested on Nov. 18, 2016, along Route 209 in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred. She is currently an inmate in the county prison.Richard Michael Molosky, 67, of Palmerton, was arrested on March 14, 2015, along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so Molosky can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for the IPP.Zachary Michael Gross, 25, of Palmerton, was arrested on Sept. 2, 2016, along Route 248 at Bowmanstown by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Gross can apply for the IPP.Kert Hammonds, 27, of Sellersville, was arrested on March 11, 2016, along White Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Hammonds could obtain a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.David Allen Christman, 31, of Kutztown, was arrested on Sept. 14, 2015, by state police at Lehighton along Upper Nis Hollow Road in Mahoning Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He also pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.Sentencing was deferred so Christman can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Robert Allen Cordery, 22, of Kunkletown, was arrested on Jan. 31 along Mauch Chunk Road in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton. He refused a blood test.Nanovic sentenced him to serve 30 days to two years in jail, a fine of $2,500 and one-year license suspension. On a summary motor vehicle code violation, he was fined $25 and costs.He will begin the jail term at 2 p.m. on June 23 and serve it on consecutive 2-day weekends.Charles Michael Streff, 54, of Perkasie, Bucks County, was arrested on Nov. 4, 2016, along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.19 BAC.He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300.William Paul Evans, 58, of Lehighton, was arrested on Aug. 1, 2015, along Route 248 in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.Sentencing was deferred.Shawn Dennis Ketchledge, 39, of Whitehall, was arrested on March 6 in the 600 block of Bridge Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He also pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.On the DUI charge Nanovic sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000 and a one-year license suspension. On the drug count he was placed on probation for a year, consecutive to the DUI charge. Zero tolerance was also imposed on drug or alcohol use.He will begin the jail term at 3 p.m. June 30.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation and follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
