Two suspects are in custody after a high speed chase which ran through Carbon and Lehigh counties.

The incident began Tuesday evening in Lehighton when a black Honda registered out of Philadelphia ran from Lehighton police.

The chase went south on Route 209 into Jim Thorpe then onto Route 903 to Maury Road down into Franklin Township. The chase later entered Lehighton going through numerous streets before going east on Route 443 then east on Route 248. The pair ditched their car in a housing development in Laurys Station and ran. A short time later both subjects were taken into custody.

Police from Lehighton, Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning, Franklin Township and Palmerton from Carbon County as well as units from Lehigh and Northampton counties and state police were involved in the incident.
