Members of the Panther Valley High School Class of 1974 gathered at Lake Hauto’s third beach on Sept. 12 to celebrate their collective 70th birthdays of class members. Two of the classmates traveled from Florida, representing the farthest distance among attendees. The group enjoyed an assortment of regional dishes, as well as a “Happy Birthday” cupcake cake. The event concluded with classmates singing “Happy Birthday” to the entire class, as well as to one member whose birthday coincided with the picnic. The celebrant blew out the candles to close the festivities.
