The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the victim of a two-vehicle crash that took place Monday morning at the intersection of Race Street and Airport Road, Hanover Township.

Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said Hailey E. Weil, 21, of Moore Township, Bath, was pronounced dead that afternoon in the emergency department of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. The cause of death was ruled to be “multiple traumatic injuries,” he said.

The coroner said Weil was the operator of a motor vehicle that was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks said a trooper came upon the crash while on routine patrol and determined the crash involved a 2004 Subaru Forester operated by the deceased, a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia that had been driven by a 42-year-old man from Nazareth and a 2025 Ford Explorer, driven by a 63-year-old man from Pottsville.

Police said the crash remains under investigation by its patrol unit, which is being assisted by a Troop M Collision Analysis Reconstruction Specialist Unit, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Troop M Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program, Catasauqua Fire Department, Northampton Borough Fire Department, Hanover Township — Lehigh County Fire Department, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Lehigh Valley International Airport Police and Northampton Regional EMS.
