Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Police were called to a crash at 4:55 a.m. May 3 at mile marker 65.1 in Washington Township.

They said a 2025 Ford Escape that was southbound struck a deer that had attempted to cross its lane of travel.

No additional information about the incident was provided.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:20 p.m. April 27 at mile marker 91 in Kidder Township.

Police said the crash occurred when a dark-colored pickup truck traveling south sideswiped the left side of a crash truck mounted with an attenuator and continued southbound without stopping.

The crash truck, a 2011 International Harvester, was driven by Richard Notarfrancesco, 34, of Tamaqua, police said. It had minor damage, as did the attenuator.

• Joel Pena, 40, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:11 p.m. April 25 at mile marker 85.1 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue north when he lost control of it and the vehicle hit a guide rail along the right shoulder of the road.

The Rogue had damage to its front bumper, which police said was pushed toward the engine compartment.
