Love to sing? The Bach and Handel Chorale of Jim Thorpe is looking for singers.
“We need all voice parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass,” said Randall D. Perry, founder and director of the chorale.
Auditions are being held each the first two Mondays in February, between 7 and 9 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Heights, 319 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, in the upstairs rehearsal room. Perspective members are invited to sing through the rehearsal followed by a short, easy and painless audition.
The chorale has members from all over the area; local and regional.
The Bach and Handel Chorale is in its 41st season, with two concerts lined up. The chorale will hold its annual Palm Sunday Concert on Sunday, March 29, at 4 p.m. The featured work will be The Seven Last Words of Christ, composed by Theodore Dubois; along with several other works. A free will offering will be taken up; no tickets needed.
The annual Spring Concert will be held May 30, starting at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 523 North St., Jim Thorpe, and will feature, among other works, the Mass in D Major composed by Randall Perry. Tickets will be available for adults, seniors and students. Children 10 and under are free.
