Carbon County Court - parole/probations revoked

Numerous defendants on parole or probation in Carbon County had their status revoked after the adult probation office filed petitions citing violations the individuals made of their conditions of release.

The following defendants had their parole/probation revoked and were resentenced by county judges.Randy Edgar, 33, of Lehighton, had his parole revoked on charges of criminal conspiracy-theft, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy-theft and receiving stolen property in four cases on petition of probation officer Derek George for violating conditions of testing positive for opiates, which violated the zero tolerance condition.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve 90 days in the county prison, which was effective on July 6.Cody Silliman, 22, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on a charge of criminal conspiracy-theft on petition of George for violating conditions by admitting use of a controlled substance, failing to submit to scheduled urine screens which violated the zero tolerance condition.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced him to serve 90 days to 18 months in prison, effective Sept. 29.Alexander Dreher, 26, of Lehighton, had his parole revoked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance on petition of George for violating conditions by testing positive for morphine and methamphetamine, leaving the state without permission, failing to engage in drug and alcohol treatment, which violated the zero tolerance condition.Matika resentenced him to serve out is maximum term, which runs to Feb. 5, 2016.Amanda Lee Bayer, 27, of Lehighton, had her probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of George for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance, admitted using a nonprescribed medication, failing to submit to scheduled urine screens, failing to get a D&A evaluation and failing to report to the probation office as directed.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic resentenced her to serve 90 days to 12 months in prison, effective Sept. 9.Christopher Keer, 26, of Nesquehoning, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of George for violating condition by failing to report to the probation office as directed, absconded from his approved residence, tested positive for a controlled substance, failing to make payments of his court costs and being unsuccessfully discharged from D&A treatment.Matika resentenced him to serve four months in prison, effective Aug. 9.David Miller, 27, of Weatherly, had his parole revoked on a charge of theft on petition of probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions by testing positive for alcohol and cocaine, which violated the zero tolerance condition.Matika resentenced him to serve 90 days "street time" in prison, effective Oct. 5.Ryan Eckhart, 30, of Palmerton, had his parole revoked on a charge of DUI on petition of probation officer Kimberly Cooper for violating conditions by testing positive for opiates, which violated the zero tolerance condition. This is a second violation.Serfass resentenced him to serve out his maximum term, which runs to Nov. 30, 2016, and ruled he is not eligible for work release. He may not reapply for parole until May 1, 2016.John Correll, 28, of Albrightsville, had his probation revoked on petition of Bettine on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and persistent disorderly conduct for violating conditions by testing positive for morphine, which violated the zero tolerance condition, and engaging in assaultive behavior toward two probation officers.Matika resentenced him to serve six to 12 months in the drug case, and three to six months in the conduct case, consecutive, in a state correctional institution. He may apply for the boot camp program in the state system.Jason Wilk, 31, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked and a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police on petition of probation officer Jillian McGinley for violating conditions by not reporting to the probation office as directed, not residing at his approved residence and failing to submit to scheduled urine screens.Serfass resentenced him to serve six to 12 months in a state prison.Jessica Davis, 21, of Nicholson, Wyoming County, had her parole revoked on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance on petition of McGinley for violating conditions by testing positive for amphetamine and other illegal substances and failing to complete a D&A treatment program.Serfass resentenced her to serve out her maximum term, which runs to Dec. 8.Charles Thatcher VII, 18, of Lansford, had his parole revoked on a charge of simple assault on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by having new criminal charges filed against him and testing positive for a controlled substance.Matika resentenced him to serve 30 to 60 days in prison, effective Nov. 20 with the order stating he must serve the full 60 days.
