Polk Township treasurer Beverly Christman gave her final financial report Monday evening during the supervisors meeting.

She is retiring this week. She was the treasurer for 10 years, and before that was the earned income tax collector for 10 years.

“We wish Bev well and thank her for 20 years of service,” said supervisor Carl Heckman.

He and chairman Brian Ahner approved Pam Thompson’s appointment as the new treasurer. Vice chairman Michael Hurley was on vacation. Thompson has been the township administrative assistant for a year and a half.

The staff celebrated Christman’s retirement with cake after the meeting.
