Here at the chamber we talk a lot about what your membership means to you and the organization, we also talk a lot about what your membership means to the community.
As a member of the chamber you are not only part of our geographic community, but you are also part of another community - a group of business leaders who work hard every day to make their businesses and community grow.Many business owners and leaders have found that an essential part of business success is being a bigger part of the community through giving back and philanthropy. Businesses that are community-minded find that their efforts breed success in multiple ways including creating a positive work environment, elevating their presence in the community through sponsorships, creating positive and lasting connections, networks and relationships as well as attracting positive attention from the media.When small businesses become involved in the community, they also become an essential part of the community causing a reaction of support from customers.There are so many ways to get involved locally. Whether your business sponsors a local sports team or event, hosts an event to raise money for a local charity or encourages employees to get involved in community initiatives; giving back and getting involved provides a positive environment and a thriving community.Opportunities to get involved can be found on the CCEDC website (www.carboncountychamber.org), by checking out recent press releases or you can learn of opportunities by contacting our office at 610-379-5000. Some of the opportunities currently available are;1. Serve on a community board.2. Volunteer your time.3. Donate time, money or product.4. Participate in and host community events.5. Participate in promotions, contests and giveaways.I am humbled by those in our communities who give of themselves to the benefit of others.
