The Tamaqua Rotary Club presented its annual scholarships recently to two recipients from the Tamaqua area. From left: Sue Deesing, Tamaqua Rotary president-elect; Noah Troxell, Tamaqua Area High School, to attend Wilkes University; Matt Karnish, Marian High School, to attend Villanova University; and Bill Donovan, Tamaqua Rotary president. The club awards $500 scholarships yearly to area students who excel scholastically and in community service. The Rotary motto is service above self and the recipients exhibit that quality, Rotary officers said.
