The Palmerton Camera Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave. in Palmerton.At that time, they will show a video from National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore, who will talk about taking your photographs beyond postcards and making your photos tell a story.Refreshments will be served. Those wishing to participate in this fun event are asked to have their porch lights on during this time. Parents should watch their children and drivers should be careful of children in the streets.Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will be open to welcome children and parents. Their lights will be on offering fellowship, hot coffee, and of course candy and goodies for all. This reporter is giving out their secret that the staff has more fun than the kids. Come and enjoy the fun at 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.Coloring partyA coloring party for adults will be held at the Palmerton Area Library, 302 Delaware Ave., Palmerton from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday. All supplies and material will be provided or you may bring your own. Enjoy delicious snacks, relax, color and socialize with friends. This event is free and open to anyone 18 years or older.Basket socialOn Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. a basket social will be held at Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton. It will be in the Fellowship Hall, lower level. Lots of baskets filled with prizes. The kitchen will be open and there will be a bake sale. The drawing will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds benefit missionaries, local Twins Pines Camp, and Living Hope Orphanages in India.Fall mini-carnivalLiving Hope Lighthouse Church will be sponsoring a Light in the Night Fall Mini-Carnival on from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Palmerton Borough Park.
