Eight defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court this week in plea bargains made with the district attorney’s office.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted pleas from the following:

Daniel Scott Behler

, 39, of Parryville, pleaded to one count of resisting arrest for an incident on Feb. 25 in the 400 block of Center Street, Parryville, filed by state police at Lehighton. A charge of escape was dropped.

Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service.

Moises Flores Jr.

, 25, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of resisting arrest. He was charged for an incident on June 13, 2018, at his residence along Willow Lane by Nesquehoning police. A charge of simple assault was dropped.

He was placed on probation for a year and ordered he get a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment. The term runs concurrent with another sentence he is now serving.

Lisa Marie Sist

, 53, of Tresckow, pleaded to one count of hindering apprehension. She was arrested on Nov. 29, 2018, in the area of East Market Street, Tresckow, by county sheriff deputies when she interfered with them serving a bench warrant.

Matika placed her on probation for six months.

Stacy Marie Fritz

, 43, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. She was arrested on Feb. 2 by Palmerton police in the 200 block of South Lehigh Avenue. The charge was added to the original complaint with a count of possession of drug paraphernalia dropped.

She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 25 hours of community service.

Elijah Nathan Dustin Nicholas

, 28, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of false identification to law enforcement. A charge of driving under the influence was dropped. He was arrested on Nov. 5, 2017, along Patterson Street by Lansford police.

Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service. The term runs concurrent with a probation sentence he is now serving.

Damien Thomas Washington

, 40, of Philadelphia, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested on Nov. 13, 2018, along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge following a traffic stop.

He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to render 25 hours of community service.

David M. Schrader

, 47, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of harassment, as a summary offense, for an incident on Aug. 5, 2018, filed by Kidder Township police. A simple assault charge was dropped.

Matika imposed a fine of $150.

DUI charge

Paul Jay Rentzheimer

, 50, of Bethlehem, pleaded to one count of each of driving under the influence and retail theft. He was arrested on June 20, 2015, by Mahoning Township police for an incident at the Walmart store. Police responded to a theft report. Rentzheimer had left the store but was stopped by police, which led to the DUI count along with the theft charge.

Sentencing was deferred so Rentzheimer can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
