Principal moves to new position

Northern Lehigh School District’s elementary school Principal Scott Pyne is moving into a newly created position as director of Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction.

Pyne, principal at Slatington Elementary School Principal will move to the position on July 1. His salary will be $125,000.

Pyne thanked the board “for endowing me with confidence to move forward in what I think is going to be a lot of work to resolve things in this pandemic.”

Board President Gary Fedorcha thanked Pyne, and noted the district must now find a new principal for Slatington Elementary.

Superintendent Matthew J. Link said, “The position was created to support a continued focus on the use of instructional technology to improve teaching and learning,” Link said. “Mr. Pyne will be responsible for the integration of instructional technology with our curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

“The district has invested a great deal in ensuring all of the technology tools are in place for our students and employees, and Mr. Pyne has proven that his passion for, and knowledge in all of these areas makes him the ideal leader to step into this newly developed role. Mr. Pyne will also be the lead administrator for our Bulldog Academy.”

Pyne, a former assistant principal at the high school, has been principal at Slatington Elementary since May 2013.

Before that, Pyne was named acting principal at Slatington Elementary in March 2013 after former Principal Dr. Linda Marcincin retired in March of 2013.

Scott Pyne
