A Walnutport borough official is concerned why checks from the police department from last year have only just been turned in.
Councilman Michael Gaston at a recent borough council meeting suggested that changes would need to be made.
Otherwise, Gaston said the police department would owe the borough money.
“These are all from last year,” Gaston said.
Gaston noted there was $260 just in parking violations alone last year.
Additionally, he said there were 10 citations for parking tickets for this year that had not yet been released.
Gaston said the borough wants the tickets and checks, adding that between the $315 and $260, it’s taxpayers’ money.
“It’s somebody not doing their job,” he said. “This can’t keep going on.”
Gaston said he wants to see a police report turned in on a monthly basis.
It was noted the borough tax collector has to turn in a monthly report each month.
Efforts to reach borough police Chief Pete Wayda were unsuccessful.
