FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS
Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• Announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will be inspecting the bridge between April 2021 and March 2022.
• Approved the return to work for employee No. 82, retroactive to March 15. The worker is a road crew employee.
• Agreed to have full-time officer David Roberts attend an online training class from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 5 and May 6 at no cost to the township.
• Approved Barry Isett & Associates 2021 fee schedule for Uniform Construction Code inspections.
• Approved Bureau of Veritas North America Inc. 2021 fee schedule for Uniform Construction Code inspections.
• Adopted a resolution for stormwater management review and inspection fee schedule.
• Approved sewage enforcement officer Scott Bieber’s request for a well distance exemption and groundwater study waiver for the property located at 1284 Interchange Road.
• Agreed to purchase 87 octane no/lead gasoline at Frank’s Service Center in Franklin Township.
• Announced that the township received $217,943 in liquid fuels this year.
• Approved the request from Toby Goida, manager of the Coaldale Tigers, for permission to use the Bunker Hill Ballfield for league practices on various days and times from March 21 to Oct. 31.
• Announced the 10th annual Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club Youth Fish Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16.
• Approved a request from the Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club and Franklin Township Lions Club to limit fishing in the primary Phifer Ice Dam for a 30-day period from May 16 until midnight June 15 to people under the age of 16.
• Reminded residents that garbage collection day for Good Friday, April 2, will be April 1.
• Announced electronic recycling events for township residents only will be held from 9 a.m. to noon May 15, and 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 25.
• Approved the declaration of disaster emergency be extended until June 30, however, the board announced the township administration office will be open to the public as of April 5 following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines such as wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet social distancing.
