Heavy rain possible today; snow mix Friday

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain today with between 1 to 2 inches possible. Next week warmer temperatures will return.

Today: Rain, mainly after 7 a.m. Patchy fog. High near 45. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Rain before 5 a.m., then rain and snow likely. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog before 2 a.m. Low around 30. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday: Rain and snow likely, mainly before 10 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 41. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 54. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 30.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 58.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 58.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 62.
