The Palmerton Area Recreation Committee continued its plans to build a play village in Palmerton Park.

Don Delich, president; Ann Wells, vice president; Marian Hoffner; and Art George, members of the committee, described the project to members of the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce, explaining the play area will include a sand box for sand quarries, wooden climbing structures connected by ropes and tunnels, a 40-foot slide and other recreational amenities, including a special area for toddlers.The project is estimated to cost $110,000, $30,000 of which will come from a grant from the Horsehead Community Development Fund.
