The Lehighton 150 Celebration Committee is seeking local youths to participate in the sesquicentennial showcase.

The showcase will take place July 1 as part of the eight-day celebration planned for June 25 through July 2.It will feature four categories of competition: Little Miss Sesquicentennial for girls ages 6 to 10, Sesquicentennial Princess for girls ages 11 to 15; and a Sesquicentennial King and Queen for young men and women ages 16 to 20.The showcase will also feature the contestants in an opening musical number, short interviews and party/formal wear. All contestants must be a resident of Lehighton.Winners of each category will be featured in the sesquicentennial parade the following day, July 2.Lehighton 150 Celebration Committee secretary Autumn Abelovsky said the event "is a wonderful way for the young members of the Lehighton community to be a part of the sesquicentennial celebration and honor the town of Lehighton and its 150 years."Registration forms can be found at lehightonborough.com by clicking on the sesquicentennial logo, or by calling Abelovsky at 610-730-0041.An information session is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sundayat the Pfc.
