The Monroe County Board of Commissioners adopted the 2021 budget during its recent meeting.
The $114.3 million budget holds the county millage to 3.2273 mills. Of that, 2.7503 mills will be utilized for general purposes and 0.4770 mills will be designated for debt service obligations.
Personnel
Nonunion employees received a 3% cost of living adjustment on Jan. 1.
Two new full-time positions are approved: one position in the courts’ department and one in the commissioners office to begin in October 2021.
General information
• The long-term debt obligation on Jan. 1 is $51,652,611 and estimated to be $44,831,246 on Dec. 31, 2021.
• Health care rates remain the same for 2021.
• Retirement costs remained at $3,950,000.
• Total capital expenditures budget: $398,183.
• Capital projects & reserve funds budget: $8,102,921.
• Grant revenue: $26.4 million.
