With his term on the Jim Thorpe Borough Council winding down, Ben Walbert urged the borough to hire a manager who would help take the community "into the next century."A borough manager would obtain valuable grant monies for the community, and help alleviate the burden council has in running the town, Walbert said."I don't have a problem with council. I have a problem with the form of government in Jim Thorpe. It goes back to the 19th century," Walbert said. "Government has gotten more complex, and we're missing out on lots and lots of grants."
