Tamaqua's fifth annual Community Advent Breakfast will be held on Dec. 12 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

This year's event will feature more of a Moravian flair than usual, as the musical guests will be the Bethlehem Area Moravian Trombone Choir, directed by Donald Kemmerer. Attendees will also receive a Moravian beeswax candle to take home.Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Greenwood Street will serve as host for the event, which is sponsored by the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce, the Tamaqua Area Partnership and the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network. TAFFN is an organization of lay leaders from Tamaqua congregations, formed to promote understanding and cooperation among groups doing God's work in the community.Breakfast, courtesy of the Zion Culinary Crew, will be served promptly at 9 a.m.In addition to seasonal music, the program will feature an Advent message by Todd Miller of M&S Hardware and a candlelighting ceremony, led by the Revs. Phyllis Wolford and Darryl Kensinger. Vicar Cindy White will offer the invocation and the Rev. Kevin Roberts will offer the benediction.Luminaria kits will be available at the breakfast.Tamaqua's Advent Breakfast is modeled after a similar event in Bethlehem, which will mark its 50th anniversary this year.Doors will open at 8 a.m. and the choir will begin playing at 8:45 a.m.Tickets are available through TAFFN members, church offices, the Tamaqua chamber office at 114 W.
