State police at Schuylkill Haven - crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating the following crashes on Schuylkill County roadways.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported on Aug. 11 at 5:06 p.m. along Route 895 in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Alexander M. Jozwiak, 21, of Singing Springs, Berks County, was driving a 2011 Ford van eastbound when he observed slow moving traffic ahead of him. He attempted to apply his brakes but realized his vehicle was going to collide with the traffic. He veered off the right shoulder of the road with the Ford striking a utility pole.

He was taken to Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg, for evaluation. The vehicle had to be towed. He was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:57 p.m. on Aug. 18 along Moyers Station Road, at the intersection with Route 443, in Wayne Township. Ronald P. Wagner, 27, of Orwigsburg, who was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, was turning south from 443 onto Moyers Station Road when the front right control arm malfunctioned. Wagner lost control of the vehicle, which went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Wagner and his passenger, Ryan T. Reber, 31, of Auburn, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.

Wagner was cited for operation of a vehicle without official certificate of inspection.

• On Aug. 19 at 12:05 p.m. Sharon L. Crawford, 57, of Catawissa, Columbia County, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet westbound on Route 895 in Washington Township, while a eastbound vehicle sideswiped her vehicle. After impact the other driver continued eastbound without stopping.

Crawford was not injured.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 12:43 p.m. on Aug. 19 along Hickory Drive, in West Brunswick Township. A 17-year-old female from Auburn, and Matthew E. Goodman, 19, of Pottsville, were both southbound. Goodman stopped due to construction ahead of him. The teen didn’t seen him stopping and hit the rear of Goodman’s 1996 Chevrolet 1500 truck with her 2007 Toyota Yaris.

No one was injured but the Yaris had to be towed. The teen was cited for following too closely.
