Defendants in pending cases entered guilty pleas April 1 in Carbon County court before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Stephen A. Maguschak, 25, of Beaver Meadows, pleaded to two counts of criminal trespass and three counts of criminal conspiracy-theft.He was arrested by Beaver Meadows police for an incident on May 13, 2014, at three locations in the borough in which jewelry was taken in one incident and attempted thefts occurred in the others. He is currently an inmate in the Schuylkill County prison on other charges.Matika deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office prepare a presentence investigation report.Joseph George Wolfe,38, of Beaver Meadows, pleaded to one count of burglary. He admitted entering an unoccupied garage along Station Lane in Packer Township and removing a pistol and $100 in cash. State police at Hazleton filed the charges. The incident occurred on Oct. 25, 2010.Matika deferred sentencing.Dylan Brett Danko,23, of McAdoo, pleaded to one count of theft. He was charged by Weatherly police with entering the property of Nicholas Urban, 430 First St., on Dec. 25, 2015, and removing two tires and four tire rims. He later sold the items at a pawnshop in Hazleton. Danko is currently an inmate in the Luzerne County prison on other charges.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he make restitution of $2,200, render 50 hours of community service when released on parole from Luzerne, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol used and have no contact with the victim.Patricia Lynn Dempsey,55, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of retail theft. She was arrested by Mahoning Township police at the Walmart store on Nov. 20, 2015.She was placed on probation for a year and ordered to make restitution of $47.22, render 50 hours of community service and stay out of the store.Shea Marie Drulyk,41, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of retail theft. She was arrested on May 5, 2015, by Nesquehoning police at Redner's Warehouse Market.She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to render 25 hours of community service and stay out of the store.Stacey Ann Hoffman,31, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of resisting arrest.She was arrested on Dec. 3, 2015, by Kidder Township police following an incident the Holiday Pocono development along Route 534. She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped in which the driver was under suspicion of driving under the influence. She refused to stay in the vehicle and struggled with officers when told not to interfere in the matter.Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to render 50 hours of community service.Rafal P. Ostrowski,29, of Blakeslee, pleaded to one count of theft.He was charged by Kidder Township police for an incident at the Galleria at Split Rock Lodge on Dec. 9, 2015. He was an employee at the lodge and admitted his part in the theft of $300.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered him to render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
