A Slatedale man has been charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Timothy Wagner of the Slatington Borough Police Department in the case against Edwin Davila:
On Monday, Wagner was called to the 400 block of Chestnut Street for an unwanted person in the home, for which Wagner was aware of past calls to the address for protection from abuse violations.
Wagner spoke to the victim who said that her ex-boyfriend, Davila, 35, entered her apartment while she was asleep in bed as the bedroom door opened and Davila was standing in the doorway wearing rubber gloves.
The victim had a new boyfriend who was also in the bedroom, and Davila was chased from the home, and his car keys were taken so he could not leave.
The victim said that Davila tried to come in a window at 11 p.m. Sunday but was chased away.
Davila told Wagner that he just wanted to talk to the victim, but admitted that he hasn’t lived in the residence since July 2019.
Davila said that he knows he was not to be in the apartment but wanted to talk to the victim.
Davila faces charges of criminal trespass - building, and disorderly conduct.
He is currently incarcerated in the Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $25,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Aug. 3 before District Judge Tom Creighton of Slatington.
