A Walnutport official is concerned with the amount of littering at the boat launch.
Councilman Michael Gaston discussed parking and littering concerns at Thursday’s borough council meeting.
“People are just trashing the place like it’s Beltzville,” Gaston said. “We got to really look at that and do something.”
As to who he suspects the perpetrators are, Gaston didn’t hold back.
“It’s like a little mini Beltzville there,” he said. “I would say 90 percent of the people are outsiders.”
Gaston said the garbage continues to pile up, and that it has made for an eyesore at times.
“When you see the garbage there, it’s a disaster,” he said. “This is like household items, they let it lay.”
It was noted there are garbage cans there, and also no-parking signs and no-littering signs posted.
Council would like to see a stronger police presence there.
