Schuylkill Twp. board reorganizes

The board of supervisors for Schuylkill Township reorganized last week.

The organizational meeting was short, and was followed by a brief executive meeting before dismissing the public.Former supervisor Christine Verdier was kicked out of the meeting once again for unruly behavior, talking out of order and interrupting. She had concerns about the budget, and for the town spending being over the revenue, but didn't proceed in an appropriate manner.Charles Fayash remains as chairman and roadmaster, Charles Hosler as vice chairman, and Natasha Tyson as secretary-treasurer.Mark Buccieri is in charge of maintenance and wages, Frank Fabrizio is police liaison, and Frank DiMarco is the township code enforcement officer. Part-time police officers are Chief DiMarco, Peter Sandor and Tony Stanell. Emergency management coordinator is Thomas Slane, and his deputy is Thomas Harris.The Slusser law firm continues as the township solicitor. The township engineer is Albert Benesch. William Brior is the township sewer enforcement officer. Tax collector is H.A. Berkheimer. Dave Shelcusky is the auditor for the 2016 township books. John Zubris is on vacancy board. Burke and Burke is the attorney for the zoning board. Paul Benulis is the zoning officer. The Comprehensive Inspection Agency was appointed the UCC code and building inspection. William Alonge was appointed to the three-year term for zoning hearing board, and Gary Feathers was appointed to the three-year term for the zoning planning board.Hosler is the voting delegate for Eastern Schuylkill Planning Committee, and the alternate is Charles Stancavage.Hosler is also the voting delegate for the tax collection committee, and the alternate is Fayash.Hosler is also voting delegate for the Council of Government Committee, and the alternate is also Fayash.The executive meeting discussed the approval of the spending limit for emergency or urgent situations to be executed by only one available member of the supervisors board. When the public meeting resumed, the supervisors voted for the limit to be $250.DiMarco introduced and recommended Christian DeAngelo to be considered as the next part-time police officer in February when Peter Sandor leaves.
