New primary election dates

Carbon County election officials want to remind residents of the new dates for the upcoming primary election, which was postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lisa Dart, director of elections, reported to the Carbon County Board of Elections on Thursday, about the changes.

The primary election will now be held on June 2 in Pennsylvania. Ballots will now go out to those who applied for them in May.

Dart said that the last day to register for the election is now May 18 and the last day to apply for a new mail-in ballot or an absentee ballot is May 26.

Voters can still file applications online at www.votespa.com, which will be sent to the county.

They can also find all information on the Carbon County website at www.carboncounty.com and look under Departments for Elections.

Residents with questions can also call the election bureau at 570-325-4801 with any questions during business hours.
