Anyone who grew up in America, or most of the world for that matter, knew who Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang were.

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and Linus were all well-known Peanuts characters.A whole new generation is being introduced to the gang.Blue Sky Studios, the animation division of Twentieth Century Fox, premiered "The Peanuts Movie" in Hollywood on Nov. 1 and Pleasant Valley High School sophomore Venus Schultheis was walking the red carpet.Schultheis, 15, is the voice of the iconic Peppermint Patty in the new state-of-the-art 3-D film.Schultheis has been working in print ads, television commercials and voice-overs since she was 10 years old.She has even done a few skits on "The Daily Show."So a little over a year ago when she was in New York doing a radio ad, her agent approached her about doing an audition for a new movie."My agent noted my raspy voice and asked if it was always that way," Schultheis said. "I said yes, and she asked if I could stick around to audition for the parts of Charlie Brown and Lucy for the new Peanuts movie. I didn't hear anything for a while, then I got called back to read for Peppermint Patty. I was so excited, she is my favorite Peanuts character."I got called back three additional times over the next year. When I got hired I had to keep it a secret for another three months, which was hard."Schultheis is the youngest daughter of Anne and Eric Schultheis of Saylorsburg, owners of the Riverside Bar and Grill in Easton. She has three sisters and two brothers: Nina, 26; Canaan, 25; Luke, 23; Vada, 20; and Athena, 18. Everyone attended the premiere with her except her brothers."My brother Canaan will be joining me later in the week to escort me to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where Snoopy will be getting a star," Schultheis said. The family planned to stay in California for a few days to visit friends in Huntington Beach.Schultheis was excited about the whole trip and said she would be attending a Halloween party at the home of Lucy.(The parents of the young lady who plays Lucy Van Pelt in the movie were throwing the party for the cast.)"The Peanuts Movie" is written by Peanuts originator Charles Schulz's son, Craig Schulz, and his son Bryan, and Cornelius Uliano.
