The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is planning a paving project along Route 209 in Lansford this year.

PennDOT District 5-0 will conduct an open house for the Route 209, Patterson Street, pavement preservation project at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the American Fire Company No. 1 of Lansford. Project plans will be on display and public input is welcome.The project extends from the Carbon/Schuylkill line, near the Route 209/Dock Street intersection, to the Route 209/East Street intersection and consists of roadway resurfacing and the improvement of existing traffic signals and pedestrian curb ramps.The meeting will include PennDOT and its design consultant, Buchart Horn, discussing the project objectives, key aspects of the betterment project and the impact to the surrounding area.The meeting location is accessible to people with disabilities.For special accommodations or additional information, contact Cathy Longenecker, consultant project manager, at 717-766-1741 or
